I’m just loving this lovely collaboration between Gola and Diego Knore painted recently at the Visual arts production centre La Escocesa in Barcelona.
Titled “Morte e Miracoli”or “Death and Miracle” we are here talking about two diametrically opposed styles, and when I say diametrically opposed, I really mean it. Whilst Gola’s oeuvre is always bright, extremely colourful and full of a shiny mood, is Diego Knore’s work the opposite, dark, charged by melancholy and sometimes pain, often making use of popular imagery. I have to admit, I just love their work.
And well, that’s what we see here where bright shapes and colours meet monochrome bones and skulls. An explosion of forms and colours in an incredibly harmonic conflict… If we can call it that.
